ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of reducing size, weight, and power (SWaP) with a drive by the growing focus on unmanned vehicles, such as ground, sea, and air. The focus is on maximizing payload by minimizing the SWaP of each individual component. Chris Lever, general manager for embedded systems at GE Intelligent Platforms Inc., states that very small, lightweight platforms where minimizing size, weight, and power consumption while maximizing performance is crucial.
