ABSTRACT
The British Computer Society (BCS) works closely with accredited training providers who run courses leading to the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or Information Systems Examinations Board (ISEB) qualifications. BCS qualifications are universally accepted and carefully tailored to meet the needs of IT practitioners at all stages of their careers, as well as catering for the more inexperienced through the ECDL basic computing skills qualification. BCS qualifications are designed to be both accessible and relevant, covering all major areas of IT. Courses leading to the ECDL and ISEB qualifications are available via accredited training providers. Once accredited against a stringent set of criteria, providers are monitored and audited to ensure that standards are maintained. The BCS is the leading professional body for the IT industry. With members in more than 100 countries around the world, the BCS is the professional and learned Society in the field of computers and information systems. The BCS also manages and promotes the ECDL in Great Britain. ECDL is the internationally recognized computer skills qualification that provides a tangible measure and certification of a computer user's competency.
