ABSTRACT
The article presents the perspectives of newly appointed Japanese Environment Minister Tamayo Marukawa, on strengthen emergency planning for nuclear waste disposal plants in Japan. Marukawa urges the reconstruction of a storage and disposal facilities for radioactive waste generated by the Fukushima nuclear crises and decontamination efforts to remove the radioactive materials. She also cites the Ministry's plan for building a disposal site for its prefecture.
