AAFA Seminar to Explore Consolidation

Strategies for managing consolidation from a variety of perspectives — the acquirer, the acquisition target and the financier — will be the subject of the seminar November 20, 2003 in New York region. Presented by the American Apparel & Footwear Association in cooperation with management consulting firm Emanuel Weintraub Associates Inc;, the event will feature presentations on buying and selling by Peter J. Solomon of financial service company Peter J. Solomon Company. John Lucas, senior vice president of C.I.T., will discuss financing a business after an acquisition, and Peter Boneparth, CEO of Jones Apparel Group, will address Jones' criteria for acquisitions. George Jones, CEO of retailing company Saks Inc., will discuss what retailers expect from a consolidated firm, and Emanuel Weintraub of Emanuel Weintraub Associates will describe how to organize your firm for sale, as well as how to effectively absorb acquisitions.
