ABSTRACT
Rugby team Canberra halfback Mark McLinden has made a startling post-match admission, declaring his game-clinching performance against the Dragons was way below par. McLinden's brilliant grubber and regather on the second tackle to give his Raiders a 21-12 victory over the Dragons masked an otherwise unhappy day with the boot for the 24-year-old. McLinden kicked out on the full three times in the second half and missed touch from a penalty in what he described as an "off day." McLinden's form mirrored his team-mates' performance. Matthew Elliott's side squandered a 15-2 half-time lead and were only saved by Trent Barrett's goal-line blunder and McLinden's late magic.
