ABSTRACT
Joseph Weldon Brown is serving a life sentence for killing his girlfriend and chopping up her body. Sometime on the night of August 29, 2000, Joseph Weldon Brown, a 45-year-old sporadically employed bricklayer, talked his way into the eastside Evansville apartment of his former girlfriend, Ginger Gasaway, a 53-year-old divorcee who worked at the TJ Maxx facility on the city's northside. At some point, inspiration struck, and Joe got into one of Ginger's cars, drove a few miles to a nearby Home Depot, and, with Ginger's money, bought himself a Milwaukee Sawzall reciprocating saw.
