ABSTRACT
This article provides information on endangered species. When an animal becomes less and less plentiful on one part of the earth or in the entire world, the animal is said to be endangered or threatened. The U.S. Department of the Interior keeps track of endangered and threatened species. Over very long periods of time, many kinds of animals and plants have disappeared from the earth (become extinct). This happens for several reasons. Changes in Climate. Habitat Destruction. Over-hunting.
