ABSTRACT
REAL MADRID last night closed the door on Mauricio Pochettino to leave Tottenham fans breathing a sigh of relief as Zinedine Zidane returned to the Bernabeu. Zidane, who left his role as manager after guiding Real Madrid to a third straight Champions League title last summer, has rejoined the Spanish giants until June 2022. He takes over from Santiago Solari, who was sacked yesterday after the club's embarrassing exit from Europe last week. 'I'm very happy to be home,' said Zidane. 'I want to put this club back where it belongs.' Pochettino had been linked with Real but Tottenham will It has also thrown Gareth Bale's future in Madrid into further doubt. The 29-yearold Wales talisman fell out of favour under Zidane.
