ABSTRACT
The problem of inspection of welded joints in the process of their longtime operation is considered. It is shown that it is advantageous to use the ultrasonic testing method in fabricating (mounting) steam pipelines. The microfailure rate must be tested in the process of operation. The period of the microfailure rate testing should be established on the basis of acting (calculated) stresses and the value of the longtime strength.
