ABSTRACT
This article presents information about the book "It's the Crude Dude: War, Big Oil and the Fight for the Planet," by Linda McQuaig. During her nearly 30-year career, McQuaig has established herself as a critical voice in the mainstream media. As a seven-time author and a journalist for various publications, she has gained a reputation for taking aim at policy-makers, corporate officers and journalists alike for what she sees as social irresponsibility and malpractice. In the book, McQuaig attempts to fill the gap between the official rationale and the escalating violence in Iraq by investigating the close ties between American foreign policy in the Middle East and large American oil companies.
