ABSTRACT
The article presents information on a new hip, urban athletic walking shoes that perform on the road yet are stylish enough for socializing afterward. The Syon by Timberland Co. has a sophisticated, "euro-hip" upper made primarily of airy mesh, making it look and feel cool. A stability plate offers midfoot support without compromising crucial forefoot flexibility, while a well-designed sole provides sure footing on slick pavement. The all-leather Asics Gel-Metro Life relies on the company's signature Gel-filled cushioning inserts under the heel for shock absorption and has forefoot flex grooves and extra-durable material in high-impact areas on the sole.
