ABSTRACT
The article reports that technology will play the primary role in the proliferation of renewable energy. The push for cleaner energy will increase the demand for all sources of renewable energy, be it solar, wind, biomass or a host of others. Gains in technology will create cheaper and more efficient processes, making them more competitive with traditional fossil fuels. But technology's most significant impact on the future of renewable energy may be its tendency to decentralize systems, said George Douglas, spokesman for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado.
