ABSTRACT
The article reports on the support given by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to the International Accounting Standards Committee for the development of accounting standards in March 1998. The support of SEC is based on the three key elements including the inclusion of a core set of accounting pronouncement, high quality of standards, and the rigorous interpretation and application of standards.
