ABSTRACT
This article focuses on a news alert computer program called Really Simple Syndication, or RSS, which can be used by a website to send headlines and a web link to the fuller story, direct to the user who has specifically requested information on this topic. The feeder headlines don't have to be news; they could be sale items or cartoons. Some people have connected their online diaries, or blogs, to RSS. Any website that uses RSS displays a little RSS symbol that one can usually click to tell his program to keep track of that feed. The good news is that the feeds are usually free, as are most of the viewing programs.
