ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Big Warrior Corp.'s use of the horizontal directional drilling machine Vermeer Navigator D200x300 in the installation of a 12-inch natural gas transmission line spanning 2,000 feet in solid rock. The company was hired by AGL Resources Inc. to complete a five-mile steel replacement project. To maintain the integrity of its natural gas pipelines, AGL Resources surveyed and replaced all of its bare steel pipes with epoxy-coated pipes to prevent corrosion.
