ABSTRACT
The article reports on the commencement of the Basslink transmission project which will connect the state of Tasmania with the state of Victoria in Australia. The process of transmission will see power ramped up to the capacity of 290 kilometers of the 360 kilometer inter-connector. The inter-connector's capacity to export up to a maximum of 600 million watts from Tasmania and import 300 million watts, with a continuous rating of 480 million watts.
