ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's response to an essay by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn concerning the stand of the Catholic Church on the stand neo-Darwinian theory. The author argued that the Cardinal should have challenged the atheists and not the scientists. The author supports the views of the late Pope John Paul II as he characterized theology as an effort of faith to achieve understanding. The author further argued that the views of the Cardinal support the writings found within the so-called intelligent design movement.
