ABSTRACT
The article offers views on the controversy over the public funding of human embryonic stem cell research. It provides information on the state of the embryonic stem cell research in California and New Jersey. Potential of human embryonic stem cell lines in the U.S. is discussed. It suggests the need to standardize the regulations regarding the patenting of genes and forms of human life.
