The article reflects on the problem encountered in deeper waters exploration by operators in drilling under salt and basalt formations. Related to this, WesternGeco, a seismic technology provider, has introduced a technology which provides a way to attain a full bandwidth of de-ghosted data, by getting low-frequency data to enhance imaging beneath salt and basalt formations, while also maintaining high frequencies for resolution in thin beds. Over/Under processing can permit much easier measurement of 4D seismic, which contrasts seismic data over the same area over time.
