ABSTRACT
The article reports that tax-exempts has went down as the Treasury market rallied on a speech by Federal Reserve Board chairman Ben S. Bernanke, raising the possibility of a pause in the cycle of monetary tightening that reached almost two years. Bernanke, said he could foresee a pause in hikes to give members of the Federal Open Market Committee an opportunity to absorb incoming data. The bond markets sold off as several economic indicators, particularly two housing reports trumped expectations.
