ABSTRACT
The article discusses the weekly performance of the Puerto Rico Stock Index. Popular Inc. reported an increase of 0.52 percent. Its net income for the first quarter of 2006 reached 118.5 million dollars. On the other hand, EuroBanchares's net income for the first quarter decreased 31.46 percent. Furthermore, R-G Financial Corp., First BanCorp, and Oriental Financial Group reported an increase of 1.48 percent, 1.18 percent, and 0.45 percent, respectively.
