ABSTRACT
The article reports on the Broadway box office revenues in New York City. With a great selection of new shows in the 2005-2006 season, it grossed a record of 861.6 million dollars, which is up by 12 percent from the previous season. Top earners were "Wicked," with 68.1 million dollars in total ticket sales, "The Lion and the King," with 59.3 million dollars and a gross of 53.6 million dollars for the theatrical production "Monty Python's Spamalot."
