ABSTRACT
The article reports on the response of U.S. President George W. Bush to the news that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Iraq. Bush is hesitant to celebrate, particularly because in the past he has been accused of lacking decorum and tact in his statements regarding Iraq and the war on terror. The news of Zarqawi's death may help to improve Bush's popularity, both in the U.S. and abroad. Quotes from staffers describe the immediate reaction in the White House.
