ABSTRACT
The article reports on the call for modernization of the Endangered Species Act in the U.S. The framers behind the legislation intended to conserve endangered species of plants or animals that were in a danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of their range. However, instead of its initial intent, the legislation has become a vehicle for what some have called a bottomless pit of lawsuits because of government agency shortcomings and ambiguities in the law itself.
