ABSTRACT
The article reports on the implications of increasing competition and declining budgets on the operations of children's television producers in Great Britain, citing the effects of reforms on advertising rules. ITV and Five have sent a joint last-minute open letter to Ofcom asking that a band on junk food advertisements should be tempered, because it would make it difficult for them to maintain their existing investments in programming.
