ABSTRACT
The article discusses the two ideological forces at work in the No Child Left Behind bill. The legislation is being pulled in two directions, one by people who believe in scientifically proven methods of education and while the other believe in using whatever means work to teach students. Schools are rewarded for good test results, which can come from innovative teaching methods but are punished for using those same methods.
