ABSTRACT
This article reveals that the seas of Indonesia remain the most hazardous waters in the world for incidents of maritime piracy. It is followed by Bangladesh and Malaysia. This is based on a recent global piracy statistics released by the International Maritime Bureau. The total number of maritime piracy attacks around the world during the first half of 2006 remain unchanged from the same period in 2005. 127 ships have been attacked in the first half of this year. The Malacca Straits and the Gulf of Aden/Red Sea take most of the maritime piracy incidents.
