Education Week;8/9/2006, Vol. 25 Issue 44, p6
The article discusses the dismissal of several same-sex classes by a Louisiana school district at two of its junior high schools. The decision came after the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court in Baton Rouge after a female student said the learning environments would lead to unequal educational development for boys and girls. The school was set to divide most of the classes by gender and was to implement the plan by August 9, 2006.
