ABSTRACT
The article relates the author's opinion on U.S. illegal immigration. The author is an immigrant from Russia and she comments that most Americans are deeply conflicted with regard to the issue of immigration. The article outlines the debate and mentions comments for either side of the argument. It comments that the U.S. does need effective border controls but it should also be a concern that anti-immigrant panic has been responsible for ungenerous and sometimes inhumane policies.
