ABSTRACT
The article reports on the introduction of the world's first international charter in Istanbul, Turkey for preventing obesity in Europe. According to Francesco Branca, the World Health Organization's European adviser, obesity in children needs to be immediately tackled. The charter will encourage governments to improve exercise and diet, counsel people against overeating, regulate the advertising of junk food to kids and ease the availability of healthy food to tackle obesity.
