ABSTRACT
The article comments on the United States' needs for more proficiency in foreign language. He discusses the attempts of some cities and towns like Bogota, New Jersey to ask voters to make English their official language and the current panic about too many immigrants speaking in foreign tongues. He argues that the supremacy of English is in no way threatened and there are just too many misplaced worries about foreigners speaking their language.
