ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which is internationally emerging as an economic power. According to Washington-based organization Institute of International Finance, the GCC economy has more than doubled in terms of nominal dollar during 2001-2006, and has become the world's 17th biggest economy. This has been due to the increasing oil and gas prices. GCC has six members: Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
