Deepwater Program Seeking Designs For Coast Guard's Fast Response Cutter B-Class

The article reports on the issuance of a Broad Industry Announcement by the Deepwater Integrated Coast Guard Systems for contract design of a Fast Response Cutter B-Class (FRC-B) for the U.S. Coast Guard. The FRC will replace the 110-foot and 123-foot patrol boats. The Coast Guard had originally planned to convert its 110-foot patrol boats to 123-foot boats. The agency plans call for buying 46 FRC-As and 12 FRC-Bs to replace the 110 and 123-foot Island-class cutters.
