ABSTRACT
The article reports on the support of the library community in Texas for the initiatives of the state's 80th Legislature, which will convene on January 9, 2007. It is anticipated that the legislative session will deal with issues affecting all types of libraries. The library community will rally for library funding and for direct aid to public libraries. It will also participate in the critical Sunset Review of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
