ABSTRACT
The article reports that first-time parents Greg and Didi Bogert from New Jersey will become pioneers in the science of stem-cell technology. The couple are part of a small group choosing to store stem cells extracted from the placenta. The stem cells will be stored at the biotechnology firm LifebankUSA. The field of stem-cell research has been hampered by a controversy over the ethics of using embryonic stem cells because the embryos that produce them must be destroyed in the process.
