ABSTRACT
The article offers projections for the housing and mortgage markets. Projections indicate a national market that will be smaller in 2007 than the prior year. Mortgage originations in 2007 at the micro-level likely will be highly dependent on the local job market, housing inventories, housing prices, and other factors. Baby boomers will greatly influence the market. Competition will be fierce for smaller mortgage originations in 2007.
