ABSTRACT
The article reports on the performance of solar photovoltaics (PV) in Alberta. It is stated that there are estimated 98% of PV installation in the country are off-grid applications. By contrast, 80% of the rest of the world's market is grid-connected of solar PV system. Further, the scarcity reason of grid-connected system in the country is simple economics in which the price tag of residential installation is $20,000 to $40,000 while the cost of its PV modules has lessened from $300 per watt.
