ABSTRACT
The article reports on the implications of the plan of U.S. President George W. Bush and Senate Republicans to draft their own immigration reform proposal for immigrant labor. A proposed immigration reform bill from the House that allows the legalization of illegal immigrants is mentioned. In the Senate proposal, illegal aliens are only granted Z visas to be renewed every three years. An argument raised by Laura Reiff of Essential Worker Immigration Coalition against the proposal is also cited.
