ABSTRACT
The article discusses various issues concerning the teaching of creationism in public schools. It sighted several federal court cases striking down creationism in public schools. Kenneth Hurst, together with other parents , won the case when school board of Frazier Mountain High School in Lebec, California voted to end the course "Philosophy of Intelligent Design." Americans United Legal Director Ayesha N. Khan also requests the cancellation of Sharon Lemburg's class claiming that the purpose of the course is to undermine evolution and promote a religious perspective in it. In January 17, 2006, the course was terminated and the district's board declares that no school shall offer any other course that promotes or endorses creationism, creation science or intelligent design.
