ABSTRACT
The article discusses the effort made by some U.S. states towards renewable energy goals. Although wind as a power source is becoming a popular choice because of its cheaper cost, more aggressive goals set by the states may have to look into a diverse portfolio of renewable resources. Solar power and geothermal energy are likely to become alternatives despite their expensive start-up costs.
