ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs on pro-life issues as of May 2007. Abortion on demand in the first trimester of pregnancy has been legalized by legislators in the federal district of Mexico City on April 24. According to a study cited in the "British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology," 102 babies aborted for fetal abnormality died within hours of birth. Portugal President Anibal Cavaco Silva signed on April 10 a law that legalizes abortion on demand up to the tenth week of pregnancy.
