ABSTRACT
The article discusses about the large population of the Knieskern's beaked-rush (Rhynchospora knieskernii), an endangered plant discovered at the Air National Guard's Warren Grove Gunnery Range in New Jersey. The Rhychospora, which comes from the Greek and means beaked seed, was listed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a threatened species in 1991. It has been noted that the Service has been initiating efforts to maintain the health of the species through cooperative management. The conservation and management for this threatened plant involves site protection, active management, and habitat manipulation.
