ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase of profits of real estate investment trusts (REITs) in the first quarter of 2007 in the U.S. Average returns of mall REITs grow by 14.1 percent, with funds from operations (FFO) estimates of 6.8 percent. Shopping center REITs rises by 6.3 percent with 10.1 percent projected FFO. General Growth Properties Inc. and Simon Property Group Inc. are among the best performers for the period.
