ABSTRACT
The article reports that the asset management divisions of France's biggest banks, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole SA and BNP Paribas, are trying to capture overseas business. Like some of its competitors globally, French banks have also been hit by the subprime mortgage crisis and the subsequent poor performance of quantitative strategies. Bank analysts believe the long-term impact on the asset management divisions is relatively limited.
