ABSTRACT
The article reports that television writers in the U.S. have formally requested the help from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in their disagreement with networks over the increasing use of product integration. The Writers Guild of America West asked the FCC to adopt a rule requiring television networks to disclose to viewers when "branded advertising and other forms of product integration" have been inserted into television programs.
