ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a proposal to create pseudoembryos using different techniques which include oocyte-assisted reprogramming and genetic interventions. The use of standard embryonic stem cells, from damaged human embryos whose potentials are blocked, met opposition due to moral considerations. It is stated that an embryo has a full personal status while a pseudoembryo lacks such status, but its cells can be experimentally useful. An embryo's potential for rationality, if unblocked, was described.
