ABSTRACT
The article discusses key issues concerning the advantages of wind power and ecologically sustainable energy services in the U.S. The author laments that despite the benefits of wind power as a cost-effective strategy for generating electricity that economically reduces carbon dioxide emissions, federal policymakers continue to focus policies, subsidies and research and development budgets on conventional energy sources such as nuclear power, oil shale, coal, tar sands and coal-to-liquids. The issues' implications for the advocacy of renewable energy sources are also cited.
