ABSTRACT
The article describes the case of Hazim Hanna and Emel Meskoni to highlight the dangers facing Iraqis who have worked with Americans in Iraq. The couple were employed by the U.S. Embassy in Iraq before being kidnapped and killed by insurgents opposed to Iraq's U.S.-backed government. U.S. officials fear thousands of Iraqis would be at risk in the aftermath of an American withdrawal from Iraq.
