ABSTRACT
The article reports on the restart of U.S. based Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA's) Brown's Ferry Unit 1, nuclear plant. It is informed that Brown's Ferry Unit 1 has restarted after a gap of 5 years and with it's restart the number of nuclear power plants in the U.S. has gone up to 104 in number. Their 100 gigawatts of capacity represent about 20% of the nation's electricity supply. It is stated that by 2030 the demand for electricity will double so therefore U.S. has plans for sanctioning new nuclear plant projects.
