ABSTRACT
The article features the Army Mountain Warfare School (AMWS) in Jericho, Vermont. AMWS offers specialized training to prepare soldiers for missions in type of challenging terrain found in Afghanistan and Iraq. At AMWS soldiers are taught of skills they will need to operate in rugged terrain and in bad weather. AMWS is operated by the Vermont Army National Guard and it provides training to both the active and reserve components of the U.S. Army.
